First Year Admission to UR School of Medicine

Hi all,

My name is Jonathan Chi, and I am a second-year undergraduate student in a BS/MD program at the University of Rochester where I was accepted into their medical school (UR School of Medicine and Dentistry) as a high school senior, a less 0.9% acceptance rate. Though I would attribute my acceptance into the REMS program to the strength of my application and high school experiences, I believe the help of Christine Hsieh as my application advisor gave me a competitive edge and the ability to put all that I had to offer to the university in the best light possible.

What I’ve learned from my two years with Christine is that having someone highly experienced and qualified is extremely helpful in brainstorming ideas and turning your often scattered thoughts into palpable, understandable essay responses. As the countless testimonials will tell you, Christine is one of the best college application advisors out there, as her ability to understand your motivations and enrich, personalize, and differentiate your essays into a compelling component of your application is second to none.

Not only is Christine a well-qualified advisor, she takes the utmost time and effort to understand you as a person and not just as a student. Though she may seem a little intimidating with her sunglasses and motorcycle gear, she cares immensely about both your academic success and your overall well-being. Throughout the application season, Christine’s constant and steadfast support at every step of the way helped me not only juggle the requirements of applying to college but also some of the personal issues I was facing during that same time.

Though I can’t guarantee you will get admitted into your dream school (as college decisions are out of everyone’s control), I am confident you will leave your time with Christine as not just a maturing student but also a person confident that he/she will succeed in the unfamiliar realm of the future just as she had done for me.
